Are you a compassionate and understanding carer looking to make a real difference in someone’s life?
At MCS Healthcare, we are looking for dedicated Health Care Assistants to support a young client living at home with their family in Radstock. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide consistent, person-centred care to an adolescent with a learning disability and epilepsy.
About the Role
You will be supporting a young person who lives in a loving family home. The client requires reassurance, structure, and consistent support, especially during the night.
They may use their behaviour to communicate, so they need a calm, patient carer who can understand their needs. At times, the client may display behaviours that challenge, particularly if they feel overwhelmed or unsettled. Building trust, offering reassurance, and responding in a calm and supportive way is essential.
This role is not just about care tasks—it’s about building a positive relationship, promoting a sense of safety, and supporting the client to feel comfortable in their own home.
We are looking for someone who is:
Empathetic, patient, and understanding
A good listener who can respond calmly to needs
Confident in supporting behaviours that may challenge
Able to build strong rapport with the client and family
What You’ll Be Doing
Providing personal and emotional support
Supporting and managing behaviours that may challenge in a calm and safe manner
Monitoring wellbeing and ensuring safety overnight
Supporting with epilepsy care
